We are pleased to announce the 7th Annual Congress of the Asia-Pacific Society for Artificial Organs (APSAO), which will take place from September 25-26, 2023, at the PAUM Clubhouse, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Traditionally, this congress will be launched with the APSAO Board and Councilor meetings on September 25th.
This is the first year after the Covid-19 pandemic where we are able to organize APSAO meeting on-site, which will finally provide the opportunity for personal interaction again. The theme for this year’s meeting is “Making Breakthroughs via Multidisciplinary Approach”. We look forward to bring together physicians, surgeons, engineers, and researchers working in the field of cardiovascular, respiratory and renal support systems through the APSAO 2023 Congress. The scientific program covers four main themes: (i) patient management; (ii) design, development, evaluation and clinical translation; (iii) digital health and numerical simulation; and (iv) biomaterials and tissue engineering.
The congress will feature 20 international speakers from Japan, Australia, Taiwan, China, India, Korea, Singapore and Malaysia, who will share their first-hand experience in managing patients on cardiovascular, respiratory and renal support. The speakers will also present their cutting-edge research on the development, evaluation and clinical translation of cardiovascular, respiratory and renal assist devices. Participants will be able to gain insightful views on the current needs and challenges associated with the development and successful translation of cardiovascular, respiratory, and renal assist devices into clinical practices. This congress is partially funded by APSAO, which has allowed us to reduce the registration cost so that more can participate in this exciting annual congress. We are also fortunate to receive the support from leading software industries in Malaysia, which will provide FREE HANDS-ON training on Materialise Mimics (3D image processing software) and COMSOL Multiphysics (multiphysics simulation software) for registered participants.
We welcome you to join APSAO 2023 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. We hope that the annual congress will stimulate the exchange of ideas and experience among clinicians, researchers, engineers and industry on an international level, thereby inspiring new innovation and breakthroughs in the field.
